High pressure cells in the northern hemisphere rotate in a clockwise fashion; Low Pressure cells rotate counter-clockwise (or anti-clockwise).

High pressure is more closely associated with clear skies and fair weather; low pressure is more associated with stormy weather and converging weather systems.
