I wasn't shocked at all... it made complete sense to me and I figured that out or at least suspected that back in the Anna Lucia flashback with Jack's father... when he went to that house at 3 or 4am, beating on the door wanting to "see her" and the lady wouldn't let him in. So it was easy to guess that he wanted to see his daughter. Claire being the only girl from Australia and the way characters cross paths, made sense.
It's had some low points in season 3, but the last few episodes have been spectacular... minus Jack's tattoos, that was kind of a pointless filer episode, but it was pretty cool that they wrote the episode around his real tats.
Hints at next weeks episode looks like it's going to be AWESOME! Can't wait to find out what happened to Locke and how he became paralyzed. I wish Patchy could have finished his sentence about that and knowing Locke.
Also great how we find out that Ben may be the self proclaimed leader of the others, but he's not the over all boss. Something we've all kind of suspected for some time, especially considering his character was only scheduled for 3 or 4 episodes. Maybe we can finally get some info on Alvar Hanso and the DeGroots.
They are slowly answering some questions... especially if you pay attention, but the big questions they cannot answer until the show gets ready to end. If they answer all the island mysteries, that will take a lot of fun out of watching the show.
Wonder how Kate's going to take it when Jack tells her that they cut him a deal and he gets to go home? Why is Jack playing football with Tom (Mr. Friendly) Why does Locke want to blow up the sub and why did he blow up The Flame station? Locke appears to be blowing up hatches and any hope of them getting off the island. If Locke leaves, will he be back to being paralyzed? Is Jack now one of them? Has he been drugged or brainwashed... or is he faking? My guess is they have no reason to keep him locked up any more, he has no reason to escape because he has a ticket off the island and besides, without a boot he has no place to go. Why would Jack want to run back to the beach camp when he could be staying in a nice little suburban house with warm water, electricity and air conditioning?
One thing is for certain, next week is definitely going to be worth watching.

i never thought it was bad. some episodes drag but it is all related to the plot one way or another. i was surprised by the jack and claire thing too. i'm also curious as to what is going on with locke. he seems to be acting more strange than normal.
