Its going back to the Supreme Court for the second time. Why can't the Federal Government butt out of sick peoples' lives?

Okay, read the question, we are not talking about criminals. We are talking about those who are dying from malicious diseases and using marijuana to make their last days on earth bearable.....

Marijuana should be given to the terminally ill.

Most jails have a Dr or nurse on staff but I don't believe that they have specialist. They usually don't take into consideration that a person is sick before arresting them, Basically the same way the criminal doesn't take into consideration that they are sick before committing a crime.
They have to handle it the same way for a sick or well person.
Even if the person is only using the drug for their last days on the earth...if they do not have a prescription then it is illegal.
Unfortunately that is the law.

Not really.

Why can't Congress butt out? They can. They just don't.

Congress could change the drug laws at any point, and either de-criminalize marijuana entirely, or make a statutory exception for states that have legalized medical prescriptions.

Congress simple has not done so.

Yes, health care in some institutions is better then civilians have.
If you can get the prescription and fill it what is the big beef? You can use it in privacy and not be bothered...Or do you people want to take it a step further? If so I am not for it at all.. The flip side of the whole issue is you might be more comfy but you are actually killing yourself quicker..Hey pain free and die quicker maybe that is the answer?

why should our jails care for the people inside. It's obvious those people didn't care enough about themselves and their fellow man on the outside, why should I as a taxpayer fork over my money to help them out, when there are people on the outside who need my help just as much BUT...manage to play by the rules..

If it's something that's going to be prioritized, then people who goto jail (and btw..the only people in jail are the ones dumb enough to get caught) should be last on the list of "to be cared for". As it is now, people in prison have it better then people living on the street, so I have no sympathy for anyone in jail, the liberals have done enough to make sure we feel sorry for people in jail, to the point that someone can goto jail and have a better life on the inside, then on the outside. in 2007 it pays to be a criminal, both on the inside and outside. I say strip their rights and make crime punishable again, not rewarded by a bed, TV time, and three square meals a day.
