To be honest, I could care less about Michael Jordan RIGHT NOW. I appreciate what he did for the game of basketball and was a fan when he was playing. However I think at this point the league is more talented than it has ever been and we should appreciate the hard work that our current stars put in night in and night out and stop dwelling on the past. Time moves forward and we need to move with it.

Michael Jordan is arguably the greatest athlete of all-time any sport. I think he is such an icon because he joined the NBA in the mid 80's when professional basketball wasn't as popular. Michael Jordan basically resurrected the NBA into what it is today. He brought a style of play never seen before and that is prevalent in today's game. Many players at his postion have emulated his style of play, for example Vince Carter, Dwayne Wade and Kobe Bryant. I think is impact was felt because of his style and his confidence that was then new to a struggling league. Without Michael Jordan professional sports in general would be looked at differently.
