It would seem that there some Iranians who would like to get rid of him. I wouldn't advise any world leader to go without bodyguards. There are too many crazies around who will kill one of them just for the notoriety. I don't think Bush should ever go out without full body Armour as well as a slew of bodyguards.

I know when he was touring around the nation before some states blatantly refused to give him the police escorts he asked for.

I don't think there's anything wrong with him asking for it, but then there's nothing wrong with people refusing to provide it either.

possibly. consider the threats and false propaganda directed at him. it is just as reasonable as bush having personal security while at the UN.

edit. consider too the fact that Israel is lobbying the US to remove MEK from the terrorist list. MEK for those that don't know is against the ayatollah and irans government,but they were also involved in taking American hostages in 1979
