Perhaps the most lethal left arm fast bowler of this century Wasim Akram of Pakistan holds this record upto date with 55 wickets. And perhaps the most intelligent right arm fast i.e Australian Great Glenn Mcgrath is close to surpass him as he has already taken 48 wickets in world cup matches and probably by the end of this world cup we mite see him as the new record holder.
