You know I spend a lot of time here on Y! Answers and its basicly turned into a NEOCON this and DIRTY LBIERAL that. I often times voice how I think liberals hate america, and many liberals often state how bush is worse than Hitler. What do you think will happen after the 08 elections, regardless of who wins the gap is just going to be widened even further.
Will there ever be a time where both parties work together on some issues? The difference between now and WWI was that back then eevryone had different opinions but we all ahd one thing in common, we loved America and we wanted to keep it and our freedoms. Nowadays there are parties on both sides, some say security is more important than personal liberty, and some say they would rather be killed and still maintain their individual rights secured for them by the constitution. I both sides cant even agree on whether the troops are heros or murderers.

Both sides, where do you think this will take us in the future as a country?

And seriouse answers please, not just hate speach, every other question on YA has plenty of hate speach. I seriousely want to know what both sides think will happen in this country with the 2 parties so polarized. Another civil war? To what benefit of the country as a whole though.

"War doesn't happen in a socio-economically thriving country.

As for us on here blabbin? We're killin time at work mostly (at least that's what I do)"

Im with you brother, im at work right now! Isnt that what YA was made for?

as for saying "War doesn't happen in a socio-economically thriving country", thats true, which is why there is no war in America, but other countries arent there yet so they are trying to accomplish stability, wealth, and power via war. Much like hitler did when he turned a depressed economy intoa thriving one via starting a war. We are a hundred years ahead of a lot fo countries socio-economicaly, and therefore to even the playing field they need to rise to our level or we have to drop to theirs.

I don't expect anything to be accomplished and I enjoy exchanging ideas whether I agree with them or not.

I think ZH is on point. And I also believe that the democrats and republicans have a common goal - just different ways to go about it. We are the ones that are not told what is going and and coughing up all the dust. Both parties have things that I agree about and things that I do not. Why should I be forced to choose one or the other because of a "party". I wish we "the people" could come up with 10 goals and if they were not done then we"the people" would put someone else in office that could. We "the people" should tell the politicians what we want, not the politicians telling us what they want for us!

I wish I could say that after the 08' elections things would settle down and we could all go back to being civil again. I don't think it's possible. We've long ago crossed a line that divided us forever. I am truly afraid for our country. No one can make a mistake. No one had better have any skeletons in their closets. The only choices for president will be bland opinion less robots selected by the DNC and RNC because of their lack of anything that could even be construed as controversial. I fear for the future.

Hey I don't know which side you are on party wise but on this we agree. There are good and bad that go with all of the labels IE. Democrat, Republican, Conservative, Liberals. We are for the most part in search of the same things we just follow different roads to get there. There are lots of factors that distract us i believe and I am not saying they are not important but I do believe we need to focus on the real issue which is keeping America Free for Americans. We will need to compromise sometimes in order to keep the peace but we should never give in to other countries who would try to control us. I am moderate to Conservative in my politics and will not be bound by party. I am a free American who loves this country and it's citizens and despises people who do not contribute to the country while calling it home.

I am a conservative republican, but I think that some of the democrats are doing a great job too. The two parties need to start working together and stop fighting amongst themselves over petty things. I don't think there will be another civil war, but things will be turned upside down until the two parties start combining their efforts instead of working against each other.

I hope they stay at each others throats in the Congress. The more partisan they are, the less they can get done. And that is a good thing in my opinion.

As for regular Americans, a little less stridency and name calling from both sides would be greatly appreciated. I understand that some opinions are so strong that any deviation from your opinion can be seen as a personal affront, but it typically isn't. Good people can look at the same situation and draw entirely different conclusions.

the parties arent polarized. They work for the same corporations. The only civil unrest that will occur is when the ongoing decay of the middle and lower classes reach a flash point.

some are just venting to relieve stresssome are just trolling. it only adds to division,we are all Americans. i myself sometime drop to that level.
i believe that it is a distraction that is purposely done through propaganda on both sides. dems and repubs are pretty much the same and no longer represent the people
