So why do white folks always complain that white people "don't have white days"?

yea i guess it is irish people are considered white....whites have many more holidays to celebrate than any other race

Actually I've never heard any white person complain about not having white days. Nor do I consider St Patrick's Day to be a white man's day. There are plenty of Irish people who are not white. Skin colour has nothing to do with St. Patrick's Day.

It has nothing to do with being white or black, or any other colour.
its about getting together and having fun and i admit that i have never seen any trouble while out on st Patrick's day because another race or colour is celebrating in the same place.
People should get over this because it is the past and u cannot change it but u can make things better.

It's not a white man's day... It's an IRISH holiday.
For that matter, Irish weren't even considered as white until about 1900 or so. Back in the day, the signs you saw in New York said "Irish and blacks need not apply".
Irish were always the whipping boys of the Protestant whites in America...
That's why it's not a white holiday. Other whites treated Irish like dirt. See the link below for the history of racism against Irish.

Well, I consider St. Patrick's Day an Irish Pride day and for most a drinking holiday. I don't think of holidays as for only certain people. I think holidays are for everyone!! After all, there is so much pain and fear in this world, shouldn't we take what breif good moments we have and share them with everyone?? I don't want to complain, I just want to wear Green, and wish for the weather to feel like spring soon.
