I didn't relize a law was passed that forbade the wearing of green except on St. Patrick's Day.

I would assume it's because it's the last day of work or school before the holiday. It's like when your elementary school teacher tells you to wear your costume on Friday, even though Halloween maybe the Saturday.
I haven't seen anyone wearing green today. But that's most likely the reason.

Because since the holiday actually falls on Saturday some offices maybe celebrating today. Hence all the green

Because St. Patrick's Day falls on a weekend this year.
Therefore, most people are not working.
So, they want to wear their "get'ups" for all to see today.
And, yes, Jim,....... it IS red nose day today.

Maybe they were afraid nobody would SEE them wearing green on a Saturday? They're probably not even Irish.

Maybe they are not doing because it is St Patricks Day. Maybe it is because it is for another occasion.

I haven't seen anyone wearing green on purpose today! they might have screwed up the date, or maybe they just aren't planning on doing anything tomorrow, so they decided to wear green today.
