Final Fantasy VIII or Final Fantasy IX?

Question

1. Which one would you choose?
2. Which one was more emotional?
3. Which one made you feel like the character?
4. Which one is more like the best game ever(in my opinion) kingdom hearts?

I do mean final fantasy 8.
I heard enough (and too much) about Final Fantasy 7 already.

1. Would choose IX. It was more like the earlier FFs.
2. IX also more emotional. Only because Squall never showed any emotion...i hated Squall.
3. I felt more playing as Zidane. Squall was useless.
4. IX was definatly more like Kingdom Hearts, even though Seifer, Squall, Fujin and Raijin were in 2...none of them show any emotion...goodness...

1. Neither. I like Final Fantasy VII better than both of them. That said, I like IX more than VIII. Didn't really like VIII.

2. "Emotional?" Uuuh... I guess VIII. Maybe that is why I didn't like it.

3. IX. Squall was a dork.

4. I haven't played Kingdom Hearts yet, so I wouldn't know. My all-time favorite game is Suikoden III.

1) I'm assuming you mean 8 and 9, and didn't just accidentally type in an extra "I" in "VII". So, I'll have to say IX.

2) VIII was more emotional, but that was just because Squall was a whiny little pansy.

3) Neither one made me feel like the character, because I was following all the characters. I was more of a guiding hand or outside observer.

4) Best game ever is FFXII, I'm sorry to say. Nothing Compares to it.

I assume you meant FF7, not 8.

But, I would have to say that FF9 was the best. I really enjoyed 7 (hated 8), but there was something a little different about 9 that I liked.
To me, playing FF9 was like playing the RPG's of old. The graphics were questionable, but the game-play, characters and story was excellent.
- I felt more for the characters in 9 rather than 8. I actually wanted to finish the game.
- Between KH and FF9; I would pick FF9. Kingdom
Hearts was good, but it did not "draw" me in.

1. between VIII and IX, i'd have to go with VIII. i like IX, but the stat system in VIII was cool. of course, it makes you never want to use magic, or else it will decrease your stats. ever cast ultima in VIII? i haven't.

2. emotional? that doesn't just mean sad, it means use of any emotions. squall finally breaking down and allowing ultimecia to finally see him after all those years, that's ok. (ultimecia was rinoa in the future, btw). vivi's story was sad. i'd have to go with IX, since they tried to follow out on everyone's story better

3. i sorta felt a little like zell. putting my hand out to shake, and no one shaking it. well, i never choked on a hot dog, but ..yea, zell. so VIII.

4. on the whole, i'd say that of those two, IX is the better game. it is hard to reference it against a game that isn't in the same genre. (KH is aRPG, and FF is RPG) [aRPG is action rpg, like zelda, illusion of gaia, etc..]
