An elder/mentor of mine tells me that in order to seperate my emotions form my decisions, i have to realize that love is not an emotion. To back that up he told me that GOD IS LOVE. And to say that love is an emotion is to say that GOD is a Huge blob of emotion which i assume thats not correct

think of it this way. when you are sad, you don't stay sad. when you are angry, it doesn't last forever. true love, on the other hand, is everlasting. changing, evolving, but constant. love for parents and especially self, while it changes with growth, stays. when you choose with love instead of emotions, the decisions in your life come naturally. you realize the decision has made itself, through love. although we have a million possibilities in our life, when we choose from love (God) there is only One. love is not an emotion. emotions are flighty, love is always, all ways.

Correction, GOD gave us love. He showed us how to love. He showed us that loving others was good. GOD is a person that is full of love, he has to be. He loves every single one of us. He brought us here. Love is an emotion. Because when you love, you get a rush of other different emotions. Love is a great gift. We can't take advantage of love. GOD isn't a huge blob of emotion. He is the one who showed us what emotions are, what love is, what nature is, who we are, and why were here.
