CONGRATS mommy! Trust me.. a positive is a positive. I have had NUMEROUS negatives and still been pregnant but NO positives and not been. Welcome to the club!!

Your pregnant. The test is detecting the pregnancy hormone and the chances of it being wrong well let's just say you have better chances of being struck by lighting. Even if the line is very faint (happend to me) your still pregnant. Figure out the FIRST day of your last period and count 40 weeks that is your due date. Don't bother with buying another test (unless your rich and it will make you feel better or if your not rich don't waste the money you will need it for baby stuff soon) just make a doctors appointment and have the test there. Either blood or urine test (go with a half full bladder just incase they need it depends on the doctor) and Congradulations!!

Relax and take a deep breath. I've never heard of a false positive as the test measures hormones in the body. Make an appointment, but just a bit of advice. Don't tell anyone yet. Wait for at least a month.

(Hoping for the best! Good luck!)

I have never had a false positive. Only a false negative. This is the same way the tests did when I found out I was pregnant. Although each time I suspected I was pregnant, I bought a 2-pack! Congratulations!

For a pregnancy test to be positive then there has to be the hcg hormone which is only in your system when you are pregnant. When a test is negative it takes the full time limit stated on your test, but when it is positive as soon as your urine passes the testing strip it will show a positive answer. Congrats to you and your hubby!

False positives are VERY rare compared to false negatives.

If you have a positive, you're pregnant! Now, if you just had a miscarriage that could be one reason for the positive. It sounds like you are indeed pregnant!

Congrats! Go ahead and make that doctor's appointment with pride!

false positives are less common than false negatives - i have never had an EPT test be wrong for me - with this pregnancy, the lines popped up almost as soon as i had put the stick down, I went to the doctor a week later and had them do a urine and blood test and confirm the pregnancy, I suggest you do the same! good luck!

I've heard that false positives are rare. But go ahead and buy another pregnancy test. Good Luck, I hope you have a baby on the way!

I don't think a false positive is an option for pregnancy test. I think the only mess up is being pregnant and it saying you weren't. The tests detect hCG or human chorionic gonadotropin. Which is only present when you are pregnant. The farther along you are the more consentrated the hCG. So, if it shows you are pregnant, you are. CONGRATS!!!!!

Oh it's happened to me before, a couple of times...the hormone HCG is jsut really strong in your body and that will turn the test positive VERY quickly. You don't have to wait the full time to read it...it should tell you that on the instructions. Congrats congrats...mommy and daddy!!!

Did you check the test again after the full amount of time? (I know you checked twice.) Sometimes the ink moves over it and it looks like two lines, but isn't.

Also, if you are taking hormones to help you conceive, they can interfere with the results.

If you checked it at the end of the time and you're not on hormones, go to the doctor! S/he can confirm for you!

(Congratulations!)
