that Lakeshia Jones and Melinda Doolittle are vastly overrated? I have not yet heard either of them sing anything other than 60's Motown Ladies songs. Not that I am prejudiced against the music genre, but it is 40+ years old, and I think the contest winner should be able to stay modern. I don't think either of them is capable of that.
My personal opinions are:
1) That Simon gives too much credit to the two based wholly on their singing voices, and not on their capability to sing modern enough music to make money.
2)Jordin Sparks has just as good a voice as the other two, and has shown since the beginning that she can do a wide variety of music, and make it work.
3) Gina Glockson and the blonde guy with spikey hair that raps and scats are good enough to get record deals in rock and rap genre's, respectively.
What do you think? I am just curious to find out what this brings back...

I love the guy that scats...di you see on inside edition last night that Howard Stern is trying rig the contest by convincing everybody to vote for Sanjaya because he sucks. He thought it would be funny to have a sucky singer win but then again the good ones nevr win..look at Chris Daughtry he should have won hands down. I think this season should be called American I Dull.

American idol is not too old for me even even if im Australian, i appreciate American idol even if i favor we ought to convey again Australian Idol so i'd get to video demonstrate both variations

the other 2 have great voices!!! too...
but if idol follows its past history.......it is now time for a black female winner.......
time will tell.......
do not really like any of the guys this year.

Lakisha and Melinda both have AWESOME voices! None of the men, in my opnion, are of "star quality"....
