Lanzarote.

Guaranteed sunshine, great beaches, loads of bars and restaurants and some of the most awesome landscape on Earth, the lava fields.
This is where NASA tested the Moon Buggy´s!

Make sure you insist on Puerto del Carmen though as travel agents will push Playa Blanca because they are all building and own "All Inclusive" rip off joints there. A lot of the travel agents are given extra commission to push these hotels in Playa Blanca if they are not owned by one of the "big" companies like TUI.
They even go as far as saying that everything is booked up in Puerto del Carmen!
If they try that (and they probably will) then just tell them you´ll try another agents and watch how fast they suddenly find a "free space".

Costa Teguise is the third resort but it´s not called Breezy Teguise for nothing and is quite quiet there.

Puerto del Carmen is the largest and most established resort and is only a 15 minute transfer from the airport and a bus ride to the capital, Arrecife. All the excursions go from there and everything you will need is there.
Do NOT buy cigs or perfume on the plane as this is a Duty Free island and they are dirt cheap.

How about the Costa Blanca Spain from Alicante to Benidorm there are lots of places. You can catch a tram in Alicante and go all the way up the coast, past Benidorm up in the mountains calling at Java and Deina, stopping off where you like, lots to do for everyone
