What happens when you are caught copying a document from the internet, while on probation in school?

don't even think about doing it, unless you want to get kicked out, becuase they will most definately show you the way out asap. this is a very serious offense (and for good reason) and will be taken very seriously. if you're already on probation then it'll be a no-brainer for the faculty - you're history. furthermore, you can kiss your grad school career anywhere else buh-bye.

The first thing they teach you at Uni is that plagiarism is an extremely serious offence - so don't do it, it's not worth getting kicked out for and it'll be on your academic record. It's more than likely that you'll get found out because of the sheer amount of information on the internet and the programmes designed for finding out if something has been copied. It's best not to even consider risking it.

If you are already on probation then you should know better. It does not take that much time to use a reference and do it correctly. You will probably be kicked out...

In my graduate program, students committing academic dishonesty of any sort (including but not limited to plagiarism) are dismissed from the program.

While I was in graduate school myself, two students in that program were dismissed for academic dishonesty.

Especially if it is a graduate school, you will most likely be kicked out. Graduate schools are typically stricter because they assume you came to learn, not to cheat.
