Don't kid yourself. There is a war going on. And it sounds like you're not winning.

There are people and groups who want to control you. They are everywhere. They want you to buy their product, contribute to their cause, support their system... they want you to do what they want, regardless of what it is that you want. The very first thing you need to do is to tune these influences out.

Until you are stronger, you need to stop watching TV. Stop reading magazines. Stop going to movies. Stop listening to the radio. I'm not saying to cut off the world entirely... but you need a little bit less of it coming in at you all the time. Right now you may thing you need all these things to be happy or entertained. This is a lie. They have convinced you of that.

Now that you have eliminated much of the noise, what you hopefully have is a lot more silence. Silence can be an almost magical thing. You may even want to augment it with darkness and aloneness. When you turn down the volume of the outside world, it makes it much easier to hear the inside world: YOU.

So many people spend less time with THEMSELVES than they do with other people. Some are even afraid of themselves. But fear usually grows only in the unknown. So learn about yourself. What you think. How you feel about things. Nobody can do this for you. But it may be one of the most valuable things you can ever do for yourself.

Once you really know yourself, consider what it is about yourself that you like and that you don't like. I know of nobody who doesn't have SOMETHING that they don't like about themselves. Don't be ashamed about such things. Be proud that you even know what your faults are. So many people lack even this knowledge.

Then, once you know what you like and don't like, feed the things you like and starve the things you don't. You won't always succeed. Nobody does. But even TRYING will make you feel better about yourself. You will be a person who knows what he wants and is trying to get it, instead of the person who is a victim of the world and fate. Who WOULDN'T want to be such a person?

Then, when you love yourself enough, you can (if you still wish) start to expose yourself again to some of these outside influences. I have found that by this point most people have lost interest in them entirely. You will be defining your own world and creating yourself with each new day. There is no greater journey than this.

Do it.

Now, I don't purport to have all the answers; I struggle with so much, so much of the time. But here's the deal: I think life only has meaning if you make it meaningful by identifying that which has meaning for you. If you don't try, you're a dead man (or woman?) walking.

I often think I lean toward crazy, but when I feel the worst, I often look outside, to the natural world, and immerse myself in what I can see, hear, taste, smell, and touch (and contemplate what I can't see, hear, taste, smell, and touch). I have a hard time continuing to feel like everything sucks when I open my senses and take in the world - the way the breeze touches me, the sound of birds (even traffic sometimes), and just how "part of it" I feel... just let yourself feel the rhythm of the universe. Like it or not, you are part of the cosmic flux, even if life is just one gigantic, cosmic mistake, even if this all is utterly meaningless.

Life is beautiful. Those who don't see it, just need to open their eyes.

I often wonder what would happen to this earth, and its inhabitants, if more people acknowledged the beauty we look past every day.

Find one thing that makes you feel good. It doesn't have to be big or long lasting. Do that. When you are feeling a little better think about something else that will make you feel better. I remember getting a haircut, just because I wanted someone to touch me. It made me feel better.
Analazye every idea you have. If it works for you keep it. If it isn't benefiting you, replace it with one that does. Refuse to believe anything that is not logical to you, including religious ideas and ideas of who or what God is.
I've learned that the purpose of pain is to let me know I'm going down the wrong road. A course correction is required. If you ask this question every time you experience pain ,"what am I supposed to learn form this?" you will find yourself making progress quickly.

The world is a place to learn. Just keep on experiencing new things or learn more about things you already enjoy. Reading new books, meeting new people, and traveling to experience new cultures and climates. Go see a waterfall or a desert your view on the world will change. And if you think you don't have the ability you are wrong you just don't have the ambition. Just get up and go if your surroundings make you fell empty go find one that doesn't.

You're asking something that no one knows.Philosophy acts as a defense...or a reaction to our ignorance. So far,I found different forms of Existentialism to be the best way to go.Which means to realize that existence proceeds essence or a metaphysical meaning. That branch in philosophy is the widest. It ranges from theists, atheists, and everything in between. It's about living life passionately and making something of yourself.Realizing that that we create our own meaning for life. It's a counter-attack on nihilism. It says life isn't all that bad,and not knowing what it's all for,or if it is for anything,it would make no difference.

Hey, you don't have to believe anything, especially what other people tell you about the biggest mysteries of life. Your experience of the world is a common one. Dissatisfaction with the 'outside' world is what directs us to the 'inside' world. You are here to remember who you are, and I'm not talking about the role(s) you play. You are One with God, Life, Love, Everything, whatever you want to call it. It's all the same Thing. Keep wondering. Keep looking within. Listen to the silence. Feel the chill, goose-pimples, vibrations, this is the Spirit, of you, of Everything. You have this lifetime to wake up from the illusion of the world... The time to awaken is NOW.

Stick to yourself. Seriously. Find what makes you happy or at least comfortable with life. You don't need religion to live a full life.

I used to fell pretty much like you do, and I was endlessly tired of it all. I had one of those eye opening moments and I decided to stop to try and please the world around me until I could please myself. Oh dear, I thought about being selfish, and that's such a big no no in this world. Well, once I had taken care of myself I found the strength to look at the world around me with different eyes. By looking at myself and my needs first I found ways to contribute good thing to the world around me. Not the traditional way that people look at selfishness but it works for me, my loved ones and so on.

Filling the emptiness inside is hard work and takes time, by the way. You can't order it at Mc Donalds or find it zapping through TV channels. Give it time, don't feel bad when you don't find answers instantly.

you start up with the incorrect premise. Hell isn't perceived yet genuine separation from God. All that God created is robust (cf. Genesis) so because the international has been created with assistance from God it won't be able to be hell. it really is people of unwell-will in this international that make this international a lot less heavenly.

Don't live to die. Educate yourself and try to make a difference in the world. Help some poor people that have it worse than you do. There is always someone in a worst situation. Live your life happily regardless of what may come after it.

When you feel empty, you don't need to feel full. You can feel something without having to question it. There are times you feel "empty" there are times you fee "full" there are times that you feel sad, there are times you feel joy. The world is about everything and nothing. Try this.......Believe in Death, it is the only "real" thing that exists..... so if we are all going to die...why do we worry about questions such as yours?... we are so caught up in finding purpose and meaning that we fail to live in each moment.... we are living in the past or we are living in the future, but very few people live in the NOW........nothing is permanent.....even your emptiness....
