I found a broucher and it said it used up to 40 pounds of pellets per day and a 40# bag was priced at about $3.50.

The ton of pellets is equivalent to 120 gallons of oil.
It gives you a central source of heat which you can hang around, stay warm and let the rest of the house go cold and save money. You don't need a chimney to set one up but should have a backup Power Supply if you don't have a chimney. My pellet stove directions suggest a three foot rise of cheap Bvent chimney for a minimal chimney. if your Power goes out when the pellet stove is burning you may end up with a roomfull of smoke if it is not connected to the chimney or backed up by a Power Supply to keep the power vent running
$3.50 for a 40.00 lb. bag is a great deal! Check on the current price of pellets and make sure you have a location to put the store
My pellet stove has glass on front thru which you can view the fire. It's great!

although I still burn wood (30yrs) the pellet is much easier no doubt. My neighbor has one and it heats very well. You've got to take that info you've got and do your math. Whats it cost you now a month vs. what the pellet stove will cost you. I use 1 tank of oil per year and that's cause I've been getting lazy. Good luck Les the painter
