Have only been able to get about half our yahoo emails so I was tweaking the settings on the Network card as the NETGEAR user CD recommended (it was more tech friendly than home user friendly) Can anyone help me disable WEP? I can get into the settings and am the administrator, I just don't know what to undo. Thanks

Hi,
Simply get into the router; 192.168.0.1, and go the the wireless setup tab and click on disable wireless; clcik on save and you've got it! If you want you can take out the SSID name of your network in there as well as on the operating system. Have a good day! If you choose to do a reset to default factory settings; look on the back of the router; you will see a little button. It should be red as it is very small. Unplug the router; wait about a minute then at the same time you are plugging in the router take a paper clip and push it in the little reset hole for 30 seconds. You will see the lights flashing on the router and it's a good idea to let it do it twice until you release the pin off of the reset button. Again, this little thing is hard to find and very easily missed. Oh one more thing it may be black so look good!

The easiest thing may be to do a hard reset to factory defaults.
Then, SLOWLY redo the "tweaks" you were working on, being careful to avoid WEP.

The manual/CD should have instructions on the reset.

Once stable, you want to enable WEP, to protect your network.

What you need to do is wire in your router and access your router from there... then you can disable the key... now i am unfamilary with the Linksys interface... but since you enabled it i am sure you know how to disable it...
