The best around is an .060 rubber sheet. You can purchase cut to length and simply glue down with contact adhesive to plywood or insulation board.
I have a flat roof, about 6 inch of fall in 20 feet. Got tired of those leaks, and the shrinkage in the modified bitumen which is a huge problem along the edges.
I installed the entire roof myself in sections. My house has 4000 sq feet of roof. First i nailed down the insulation, then i had it "boomed up" to the roof. Rolled it out, let it relax , then put down the contact cement with a roller. onto the insulation board and backside of the rubber. the rolled it back. Exactly almost like laying carpet. The edges are trimmed by pulling over and an alumium strip used with stainless screws.
I used .060 Firestone rubber bought it in proper width, cut to exact length i wanted. Guaranteed for 30 years.
The seams are easy to make too. They have a tape and primer, put on primer, roll out tape, roll back rubber and thats about it.
Speaking from experience here, Would never ever use any tar product again.

With a pitched roof you can use more and better insulation. You can also use vents to cool the area between t your ceiling and the roof. All this adds up to less energy used to heat and cool your building. It also will make the roof last longer You will need to replace the flat roof about twice to one pitched roof. So less trash will be made in the years to come.

fisrt off are you going to use cold process or torch down ?? is thsi something your going to tackel yourself ?? i sold modified bitumen if you are doing the job yourself please if you have never worked with torch applied roofing, hire a professional andcheck them out to many contractors think they know what they are doing, but this is your home we are talking about and when the contractor burns your house down he's not gonna lose sleep over it. cold process or mop down is a great product, but there are newer products i think you would like better. if you want to tackle this yourself and you say you have a one pitch then you should have standing water on the roof ( no puddles) i would 1st rip off the exsisting roof check out the deck replace and damaged materials( plywood ) and look into a peel and stick product. gaf roofing make s a product i believe called liberty , certinteed makes flintlastic iko makes roll fast, just to name a few they are very easy to do and work with clean the roof deck you may need to apply a water based sealer then a mid ply sheet and finlay a cap sheet and yes they do come in colors. no fuss no muss. check with your local roofing supplier to see who they carry. i worked for several over the years. they are now cheap some are more then others. a sealer and cap sheet like henry co. will get you a ten year warranty a sealer mid ply and cap sheet should get you a 15 year warranty. try looking up www.bradcosupply.com o r www. abcsupply.com they are a couple of the bigger suppliers for roofing stay out of the big orange box stores. go to the professionals.

We have a steel metal roof. Couldn't be happier with it! It comes in any color you could possibly want! We have gray. Our son has brown. Our neighbor has red.
This type roof is very popular around here. We have very long winters and the snow just slides right off. Never have any build up.

sheet metal roof is great regardless of pitch or application. It can be used for both industrial and home/office buildings and is available in almost any color you can think of. the only minus is that the material itself has no sound-deadening qualities.
