Can I still be pregnant after tubes being tied????

Question

No MP this month....been regular since tubes tied in 2004. I got a faint positive line on the home test. I have 95% of the normal signs (that I had with my other pregnancies). Could this be pregnancy? tubal pregnancy? or all in my head? The stress is normal for me and that has never done anything to my MP. I did not start wondering about pregnancy until 2 days ago when I found I was 1 week late already. I keep hoping that I will get my MP.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.THANKS

The method is not 100% although if you got your tubes tied and burned it is less likely for you to get pregnant. If you are pregnant, then most likely it is outside of the uterus(tubal pregnancy). Let's hope for your sake that you are not! You should go to the doctor within the next couple of weeks if you still don't start your MP. First, just to keep your sanity in knowing one way or the other. Second, because if you are pregnant there could be complications. When I had my tubal ligation 4 months ago, the doc told me there was a failure rate of 1 in 1000, but I've heard other numbers as high as 5 in 1000 so its definitely possible.

It's very possible. And with the positive test I would say yes you for sure are. Unless a test is expired or misued the chance of a false positive is VERY VERY rare. So I would definately call the DR and tell them you are pregnant. Go to a WIC office and they will test you as well.

Yes, you can become pregnant. My cousin had a tuble pregnancy after she had hers tied, 6 years after having it done. Mine have been tied since 97 and no pregnacies. Go to the doctor and get checked out, it could make you real sick and cause major pain.

I would immediately go to your Dr. I have never heard of there being a false positive, just false negatives. I have never heard or known someone that this happened too. But I guess anything is possible. Just call your Dr. and make an appointment. You can never be too careful with your health.

You could be pregant. With a positive test you maore then likely are. There are rare cases that your tubes "untie" or grow back together. I would call your dr asap to make sure it is a normal preganancy though and not a tubel. G/L

while it is rare it is possible my aunt got pregnant at the age of 40 with her tubes tied... I would reccomend seeing a doc asap to be sure as many complications can come wih this if you are its best to know you dont want to prolong something like this.

If they were just tied, not cut and burned, you can still get pregnant. But, you really should see a doctor because a tubal pregancy can kill you if it gets too far along and then bursts.
