I own a 1995 Ford Taurus with a 3.8.when its cold outside the temp gage dont move,hot out it goes half or more

when its hot its hot or warm out it runs rough cold it runs better any ideas???

Sounds like your coolant temperature sensor is on the fritz. Your car's computer takes the engine temp and outside air temp and modifies the air/fuel mixture. If your coolant temperature sensor is bad it is telling the computer the motor is cold and it adds more fuel, like driving with the choke on.

That would be why it runs better when cold.

Possibly your thermostat is bad, but check your coolant level first. It could be low.
