NO.
As mentioned by a previous responder there have been in the past attempts to correct inequalities through affirmative action which is the process of giving and underpriviledged group women/ethnic or what ever preference over other candidates even where the others are stronger applicants. Affirmnative action was supposed to address the imabalance between the majority group and the minority, create better networking opportunities for the minority, more power and influence so that they could start to help themselves and also to help break down any biases in the majority group that they are around.

I dont think it has worked though as the although more minorities (particularly women if you could call 50% of the population that) are brough into tactive participation in the various areas described abov, ther is still and entrenched culture against them - the old boys clyub so to speak. The culture (established patterns of behaviour and acceptable norms of the group) will keep bringing the situation back to the "norms" of that culture. So you get a really good female applicant - they are overlooked for a high paid job that may take the person up the career ladder instead the female will be given a dead end job. I personally remember a decade or so ago locally a discrimination case in a law firm where a female graduated student who had topped their classes etc and worked part time (possibly voluntary?) for a law firm part time while studying and recieved accolades from the partners for their quality of work and dedication... BUT missed out on some postion/opportunity at the firm to a male who had no experience and mediocre results in their studies. The firm gave no explanation/feedback as to why she missed out and then turned around and said they hope she continues to work for them on a voluntary basis as they greatly value her excellent work!! Well that was enough to turn me off a law career but accounting was and in many cases still is just as discriminatory. Males ahve a differnt psychology and therefore different way of doing things and tend to feel uncomfortable trying to make a decision that the women are also happy with so the boys club keep the culture going even if its to keep them in their cushy comfort zone.
I once worked in building and construction before any other females were doing it and the bosses made a point of telling me I should be home looking after a man and kids and that I had no rights taking a job away from a man that has a family to feed. I used to be given the hardest heaviest most impossible jobs they could find to try to wither break me or find some fault with my work- in the end I was tuff enough (and physically strong enoough) to survive and if backfired big time as some years later when a more inlightened male headed the company I got the supervisors job becasue I could that I was better than any of the others (due to the practical examples overcoming the various problems and difficulties that had been throwing at me).

to answer your specific question
1.work..No
I get pay equal to males at my level at my job but its always the males that get to go to seminars or on trips or represent our office even though close to 50%) are women!

2Legally.. No
Refer to previous comments plusthe fact that woment are usually less financially well off then men and therefore less able to pursue their rights in the legal system. Plus locally our legal system in regards Rape cases takes the approach that
women must prove that they did not consent and all the men have to do is say they thought the woman was consenting and some story as to why they thought that (including being drunk) and they get off!- True
3. At home- No
Guys are lazy and their mentors have always indocrinated them into the culture (beliefs) that housework is womens work, looking after the kids is womens work, cooking is womens work, sitting down with a beer and watching TV is mens WORK(??) and as already mentioned culture is something that keeps "normalising" changes back to old norms so event he young guys tend to pick up those kind of perceptions from older males and that they are a girl if they help out etc and so the culture is maintained and the guy continue to do nothing. Yep I can think of a numbe of guys that on their own for a few weeks can out of necessity wash/vacuum/ cook /look after kids and even sew a bit.. but never ever if they can get a female to do it.
4. Military .. No
Yep I had once wanted to be a fighter pilot like my dear cousin but no they wouldnt let females do anything other than secretarial/admin stuff and while that has changed a bit since then.. the culture hasnt. I know of an example where officers had an affair the male was the senior officer and married the female was a junior officer and single and it ended up with the female being dishonourable discharged and the male not even getting a reprimand... AND he was instigator and pursuer.... thats a fact because I heard it from friends of the people concerned.
5. Socially - NO
Women are more vulnerable than men due tobeing physically smaller/ not as strong/ less able to tolerate alchohol but entertainment venues almost trade of womens vulnerabilities by encouraging young women to nightclubs with free admittance and free drinks but charging men inflated prices. There have been a number of nightclubs charged with offences and on propriteor convicted of rapes and various other offensive behaviour charges after spiking womens drinks. Reality is that ther is almost nowhere that women could go on their own and be safe other than a church or something. Of course the other down sides are that women are always expected to look after the kids while daddy is of having fun playing games (sport or at the pub). Woment who take on staus symbols (usually reserved for males) such as a sporty car are generally the victims of derogatory remarks by both men and (envious?) women.

This question actually doesn't make much sense. If we are talking about actual equal rights, ideally everyone must benefit equally, in every situation. That's what the phrase "equal rights" means.

If there is an inequality of benefit in any area, that would stem from a failure of society to apply the standard of equal rights. Historically, white males gained the benefit of a position of priviledge over women and non-whites.

Affirmative action (which, perhaps, you meant when you used the term "equal rights") benefits those non-white-male groups by reversing white male _priviledge_, which can often feel to WMs like their "rights" (the "right" to enjoy an advantage over others) are being taken away. (For a great example of this, see the previous answer.)

For the record, I would be classified as a white male.

I believe they do and in some areas they get preferential treatment. For instance in the military they get the benefit of lowered PT standards from those that men are held to. At home, well it depends on the house there. Socially and legally, women are way out front. A man gets his head handed to him in divorce proceedings unless the woman is an inhuman monster.

Ethnically, I am of the cause of the entire Earth's ills (White Male.)

magpiez is way off. Women don't want to be equal in many cases. How many have you seen trying to make it a law that women have to register for the draft?
