Aren't we just wasting money making these red noses, along with the boxes... chocolates and stickers that come with them... when all that money that goes into making them could go to the cause that we're supposed to be supporting... aswel as donating the odd £'s. I know it may not cost much to make them but it maybe goes towards something... every penny counts!!

hey there, i dont think it is a waste, the respon that companyhs produce stickers, chocolates, novality items is because not everyone calls in to make a single donation, the cost of marketing items, producing items etc is less then the profit! so more money is raised its a long process but more moeny is raised, achieving the whole point of red nose day!
plus if you have a spare pound would you give it away for nothing but to a good cause??? or rather have a bit of chocolate for it and it stillgoing to a good cause???

There is no obligation for people to buy a Red Nose, a DVD for Red Nose day, take part in RND phone ins, etc.
It is true more money can go to the charities, if it is given directly, either to the Red Nose fund, or to other charities involved.
Some people however, like to have something to see for their money, and these products satisfy them.
If you want to give money directly you can.

No, we are not wasting the money. Comic Relief is fantastic because everyone becomes unified and we are all helping each other. Also it helps many people even in the UK as well as other places out side of the UK. We've raised about 50 million and even more.

Yes but would you give money without showing everyone that you've given?
More importantly, are we wasting our time with the whole outmoded idea of giving aid to Africa?
The current US led global warming fiasco will only have one result, and that is to deprive African countries of power and industry, since they will not be allowed to use fossil fuels.

i am sure we are happy to help out but the important thing is that are the poor really getting the help with all the millions collected. everytime i put the tv on and there is some much poverty and heartache and children suffereing. we are lucky we should not take advantage of the basic's water, food etc.
