Because the De Beers company which controls all diamond mining has said so. It is the biggest fraud in history. Selling a piece or carbon for huge profits. You can buy imitations for a fraction of the cost but women have been brainwashed that they must have the real hunk of carbon as though it is somehow better.

they're prety? i dont know i'm one but i certainly have better best friends then dimonds. i love diamonds, but i have real friends who are there not just to make me look prettier :)

ermm cuz they are nice?! they shine?! some girls want to attract attention, and well... by wearing all that "bling" they sure do attract ppl xD :S Also, theyre expensive and some people like to show off?! and for others, they just like how it looks, they buy it to satisfy themselves or wtv... gettit?! hahah i dnt really knw how to explain bt hope that helped... xox !
