Hi, I'm a junior in Miami, FL. Yesterday was the Prom for my school. I dindt go because I prefer to wait until my senior year.
But I've been thinking... this year's Prom ticket costed 75 dls!!! And let's not forget all the money you have to spend in the dress, shoes, jewelry, make-up, hair, and so on...
nad every year the cost for these things, mostly for the ticket, is dangerously increasing!!! Dresses are becoming more and more expensive, and let's not forget about the After-party!!!

So, I've been thinking that all this has become a tradition just for wasting money on eccessive and unnecesary luxuries, just for our teenage desire to fit in!!! I really dont know if I'm going next year, what do you think???

Only if your heart desires it. My daughter went to her junior and senior prom. I made both her dresses so that kept the expense down. I was shocked to hear how much you girls are paying for prom dresses alone and they are not even made well. I had a lot of my daughter's friends ask me to make their dresses. I think if parents put more personal interest and got more involved with their children, you would see a lot of these costs go down. But I think it's too late for that now. Society seems to rule now and you have to go without or pay dearly. From what you wrote, it appears to be more a financial issue and I can certainly understand. Maybe start saving for your senior prom now. It's once in a life time!

nicely what u imagine that's needed if u want to bypass to the prom then bypass correct ahead if u do not then do not. i'd say u have a small inner most get at the same time because what's using going to the prom the position human beings do not even know then with ur acquaintances wher u csn have a superb time with those that care about u. if the porm fell on my b-day then i'd bypass to the porm and performance my get at the same time the subsequent weekend, yet i'm a "girly" and that i'm acquaintances with each body at my college so do what ever feels correct nicely sturdy success

My school's prom has sucked all 4 years that I have been going. (But that is other's opinion, I havn't gone to one). I don't like the prom cause its just a way for the rich to show off and the popular to become more popular.

Mine was definitely not worthwhile. The event itself is boring and useless. Just go to the afterevent.
