Those people are not your friends and are trying to corrupt your morals. Stick to your guns and don't give in. Usually, if you try some of the stuff, you'll like it at first and continue but you're too young. Because of your independence and attitude, you have the potential to be a great leader. Study hard and take business courses in college; also ROTC. Stay away from the Drugs, and other bad stuff. It can only do you harm. Sex is fantastic, but do not have sex until you're absolutely ready. If you do, it could have serious consequences on your future and potentiality.

I think it's who their peers are and what they think they need to do to look cool.
I honestly think it's sad the way some of the kids today act. I'm 16 and I would never dream of doing that kind of stuff. Going down the wrong path is very easy to do when you're at a cross-roads. They need to make a discision; either look cool or have a plan for the future. Of course most choose the wrong one becuase, in highschool, clicks and reputations are the biggest things and kids just want to fit in. After awhile, the lifestyle becomes addictive.
A lot of people think it's how they're raised, but it's not really. Everybody is vulnerable to these things. Most of the time it's a child who has the best parents, is raised to think that stuff is bad, to stay away from it, is the best behaved is elementry school and is considered the golden child. They get sick of it and rebel.
Just think, when you don't give in who do you think will be handing you your food at Burger King?

I was almost 19 before I had sex. Guys really respect that in the long run. My brother didn't believe that until he was 19 and was dating a girl that had been with 3 other guys. It really bothered him- even though he had been with other ppl too. He wanted a girl who hadn't done all that crap. Your mature for 16 making the right decisions, just sit tight and the rest of the kids your age will catch up maturity wise.Drinking is overrated. To drink socially in a certain enviroment is okay but to go get bashed every weekend just for the hell of it is stupid. Your making the right choices- don't be sad.

People will do what they want, but what's important is to do things safely and in moderation. Don't be an abolitionist prohibitionist abstinance-only ladies' temperence society friend, but DO be the voice of reason.
And wait a few years and have a drink. It's not evil---in moderation.

well i did.
but i started at 13 and ended most of it by the time i was 16.. now i am mature and only drink one night a week :)
the best thing to do, is to get it out of your system as young as you can, my sister was a good girl at that age, then she turned 21 and now she thinks she has to "catch up " on all the partying she missed, so shes out all the time doing GOD KNOWS WHAt and is always wasted..not good

Your doing GREAT- keep being true to yourself, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise, peer pressure at your age is very hard- but as long as you know how to distinguish what is good or bad you'll walk always with your head facing the sun.
TWO THUMBS UP FOR YOU!! :-)

Just because everyone is doing it doesn't mean it's right. You just have to listen to yourself and make your own judgments. No one dictates what you should or shouldn't do. That's really it, actually.
