it all depends. if u would like it on ur lower back, go for it. if u want it to stand out, try putting something that has bright colours. or do the opposite. if ur usual happy, go for something nice. if ur dark and mysterious, try doing a black snake with some red and green. don't worry, probably anything will work

Tattoo's are pretty.........for awhile. When you're an adult, you might regret it, and to take it off is a lot of time and pain. You probably look beautiful without a tattoo. But health issues with tattoos are big too. Most places that do tattoo's aren't clean, and it is a good way to get a disease from a needle that was used earlier before. But honestly, it's your choice to make.

Mine is on the top of my back, in the center just below my neck. This way, it is really not going to stretch or anything if I gain or lose weight, and I can choose to cover or expose it.
Don't put a name on yourself, unless it is your own child. Husbands, boyfriends, etc. often become regrets years later. I'd suggest staying away from cartoons, too- at 20 they can be cool, but at 50 a Tweety Bird tattoo is just ridiculous.
Do your research to make sure the parlor and artist are appropriately trained and licensed. Make sure you eat first! My aunt and uncle had a studio for years and if people had not eaten the adrenaline rush on an empty stomach would make them queasy. Otherwise, go for it! I love my tattoo, and I can't wait to add on to it!
Good luck and Happy St. Paddy's Day to you!
Cheers!

Find somewhere that you like, but you can hide it if you choose. I chose my ankles because if i want you to see them, i will wear something that reveals my ankles. I if had an interview, had to dress in business attire everyday, or was in a wedding... i could cover my tats no problem. You have to consider that no matter where you get your tat, you will probably be able to see it when you're in a bathingsuit... but really consider things like, what if I want to get married in a formal white gown with my hair in an updo? (That is what stopped me from getting a tat on the back of my neck right under my hairline. Sure, I have my hair down and you can't see it, but.... I can't tell the future and know right now if I want my hair up or down at my wedding...) Different situations will apply to you. A tat on the small of your back will show when you bend over if your pants ride down at all. Chances are, they will. Is that ok with you? Also, consider how your body will age. A tat on your belly, for example, could become unnattractive should you have children... and what if you get fat or wrinkled? That is why I chose my ankles. They can be hidden and my ankles won't age to the point of ruining my tattoos.
Also, be sure that you chose something that you can live with for the rest of your life. Don't get something that is a fad right now, chose something that means something special to you and always will. If you have kids, something that reminds you of them... I chose a self-drawn cross with my initials and a self-drawn pegasus. To me the pegasus is representative of magic and miracles and positive things. The other is obvious. Just be thoughtful before you get inked for life! And if you're not 100% into it, don't do it!

I have one on my lower back near my hips and one between my shoulder blades above my bra line. I am so tired of people calling the tattoos on the lower back "tramp stamps". I am a server and a lady I was waiting on was arguing with her daughter about her wanting a tattoo there, the lady said that slang term and I told her I had one there and was offended. I got both of my tattoos at times in my life that I felt like were major transitional periods for me, and I wanted to mark/mourn the passing of those times. For what ever reason you want a tattoo, do it for yourself and only for yourself, period. It should not matter to you what anyone thinks of them or judges you for having them. If people want to see you differently for having one, so be it, you wouldn't want to know the person who judges you for one. I would suggest that if you are wanting to get one to buy some temporary tattoos and place them on different spots that you are considering getting the real one, that way you can sort of test drive the location for a few days and see if you want it elsewhere. Don't let anyone else's opinion alter your decision, you are you one who has to live with the ink, so do it for you.

the lower back is very comon , but with the right image it works well . think what you predict you'll still love 10 years from now & while your at 20 years from now as well . remember it's for life & you also take it with you ! i'm working on a sleeve for myself , desidning it . so far i've gotten a sexy 50's sailor girl from the wrist to the ditch & the rest of my arm will be flowing with Koi fish , waves & a few cherry blossoms . semi-traditional japanese design . so , yes i think tottoos rock , just give the art & the artist lots of consideration before you get started as it can be addicting ! good luck , tp. mullin (lowbrow/outsider/popartist) popclt.com

yes the lower back is a great place to get it, depending on what tattoo it is. a tattoo is a beautiful thing for me, and it shows a persons partial personality, wouldnt you agree? anyways, its good cause it shows something about yourself, and sometimes makes you a little more unique cause of the tattoo. its bad cause you cant donate blood for at least a year, or you might regret getting one... good luck. :D

Depending on your age -- think about what you want to do career wise and if what you choose will be suitable. I love tattoos but get something that means a lot to use and not something you'll be ashamed of later. Plus, remember we all age and things go south. Smile

Just think when you are 50 and start to sag what the tattoo will look like.
I think they are sexy, but in reality they are trashy.
I have a tattoo, but really it's in an inconspicuous place...and it carries meaning as opposed to just for decoration.
Good Luck!
