I know it's hard to have to wait, but the baby will come. Sex cam help if it hasn't been contraindicated by your doc and if it is comfortable for you. The pressure against your cervix by the penis helps to relax it and there is an enzyme in semen that allegedly helps dilation. Hope this helps, good luck!

You may be fed up but if this is your first baby you're still well under the average length of pregnancy which, if left untampered with, is 41 weeks and 3 days for a first time mom.
Your labor will start when your body and your baby are ready. It's difficult to wait, it's uncomfortable, it's hard to rest and you're anxious to meet your child. But your body was made to do the work that lay ahead of you and it will happen in its time, and should be allowed to happen in its time.
Your cervix can dilate very quickly. Being closed today means nothing about what will happen tomorrow. I advise my clients to decline cervical checks before they're in active labor (and to limit them even then, as each exam introduces bacteria into the birth canal, often unnecessarily) because they don't provide meaningful information about you, your child or the proximity of your labor.
Relax as best you can. Keep walking and doing squats to help engage the baby into optimal birthing position and encourage the process of labor to begin. Don't get caught up on what day it is and when you are or were "due" (it's an *estimated* date, not carved in stone). Focus on having a healthy, empowered birth, for you and your child.
Best wishes.

Yes you can. You can wait and give it time.
Getting induced is so much harder on the baby and on you (more painful contractions, greater chance of fetal distress and higher rate of emergency c-section.) PLus if your cervix is not effaced, getting induced is likely to fail and you will need a c-section.
So just wait it out Mom. Go to the movies, walk as much as humanly possible, and if you can deal with it, have sex (semen contains natural prostagladins which can encourage the cervix to start to efface).
No woman has ever remained pregnant forever. Keep in mind the AVERAGE first-time mom is pregnant for 41 weeks and 1 day. So you might just have one more week. You are almost there.

I was overdue with all 3 of mine. I feel for you hon! I had a big tempertantrum with my 1st and a couple hours later my water broke. I was 12 days overdue. It was a pretty big tantrum, I wanted my husband to..um...you know. I thought it would help get things started. He refused. Perhaps I was already in labor and that's why I had the tantrum. I don't think there's much else you can do besides beg your doctor to induce you.
Good Luck and enjoy being a mommy!
