We'd had our fridge for just over a year, and the bulb went. Though it a bit odd that it'd only lasted a year, but never mind. So we replaced the bulb. And that's when we discovered that even when you close the door, the light stays on!!
There's a button you can press that changes it from 'always on' to 'turns off when you close the door'. The fridge had come from the factory with it set to 'always on'.
So that explains why the bulb only lasted a year, but leads me to 2 questions:
1) Why is there a setting for the light to stay on when the door is closed????
2) Why is the factory default setting 'always on'??

if temperature in the room where your fridge is kept drops below 3or4 degrees the fridge will stop working and the freezer will defrost the light is fitted to warm the fridge up so this will not happen you may only have the light swithced on in the winter months but in the summer ore in warmer weather turn the light off this is only appropriate if the temperature in the room drops below the given temps if it dos not even at night turn the fridge bulb off

To be honest I really don't have a clue as the bulb will heat the inside of the fridge to a dangerous temperature reducing the life of the food.

MAYBE the fridge has the option of coming with a glass fronted door (like in pubs, bars and restaurants), when the fridge will look better having the light on all the time?
Yeah, or maybe it's in case you get trapped inside!!!

Perhaps the designer really DID believe his mother when she told him to leave the door closed so the little man who turned the light off and on could get some sleep. Well thats what I told my children! I'm sorry I couldn't resist the temptation to be childish - again! I do hope your problem gets solved.

I really don't know. In fact, there's a good chance that having the light on all of time would cause the fridge to heat up!!
Apologies for not giving a proper answer, but could you please add details giving the make/model of fridge as I am now thoroughly intrigued.

If it always on it prevents the elephants from stepping in the butter.

incase you actually inadvrtently close yourself in there, or if you want to put the mice in there to cool down on a hot summers day, how do you know the light is on when the door is closed,does it have an air gap at the base,

I really don't know, but that is really wierd. Most default settings are turned to the on position when you purchase something.

a million) Make a agenda. you want to positioned in writing a agenda for once you awaken, once you start up each classification, and so on. AND keep on with IT. I provide myself 3 breaks an afternoon, 1/2-hour each. One earlier I start up college to wake me up, one for lunch, and one after my toughest classification, because my mind needs a spoil at that aspect. Make it a purpose... in case you do not end, you do not get your spoil. 2) study out loud. i have got here across that in my worst topics i'm able to concentration more beneficial useful if I walk in circles & study out loud. that could basically be me... yet attempt it and note. also, attempt doing college round someone, ideally a figure. i locate that after I do college on my own in my room I cant concentration because i visit exceedingly a lot do in spite of i would like... yet when I do homework close to my mom i know she's observing me & received't enable me bypass hangout with acquaintances or play mw3 until eventually I end. 3) once you're having a difficulty that you won't be able to scrub up, understand, or in spite of... Ask someone or look it up! do not spend 3 hours staring on the priority. in case you do not get it after awhile you may besides leave it. that's no longer worth getting in the back of on your training.i have discovered the not straightforward way. 4) provide your self weekly aims like putting with a buddy in case you finished all of your assignments & have sturdy grades.

thats a crazy fridge you got yourself there it doesnt make any sense at all we are supposed to be saving the planet by cutting down on greenhouse gasses ...... my husband has an explaination tho he says that it mayb an auto defrost i will watch this space
