the anasthesiologist. Any thing that will knock you out or given for pain, is done by them. Trust me i was on the operating table and the nurse told me that i could roll over and they would undress me, and i told the nurse i would wait until i saw my doctor and the anasthesiologist. I didn't want someone else starting without them. They gassed me and i still stayed away, finally the doc and any came in, the anasthesiologist mentioned to me that i was a fighter and that he was impressed that i had lasted this long then he told me it was okay to close my eyes, and i was out.

The anesthesiologists inserts the epidural. You should look into having a natural birth. It doesn't hurt as bad as people say it does. If you take the right classes and have great birthing coach you will look back and think of how great the experience was. contact me if you have any questions

For both of my daughter's births, my doctor inserted the epidural. Not just that, but, depending on how your insurance works, you might want to make sure that the anesthesiologist is within your network, or you'll be fighting that claim for awhile.

First of all, anesthesiologists ARE doctors!
There are some obstetricians who do epidurals, but not so much anymore.
Anesthesiologists have lots of training in placing and managing epidurals, so that is who you really want doing yours.

The anesthesiologist. It is part of his job but if one is not around, any doctor should be trained to insert it.

The anesthesiologist entered mine. I'm sure it all depends, but the anesthesiologist does them all the time and, I think, would have more experience.

If you don't know the answer to this question, you either did not ask the doctor questions or you're in a dark room with coat hangars around.
