Homosexuality is a condition of life for many people. Some reasearch suggests it is genetic, therefore comparable to being born black, tall, male...
It is not a 'disorder', as that is too imply it is wrong, or against what is 'normal'. There is nothing inherently wrong about two people loving each other, regardless of gender. To say it is not 'normal', there must first be a definition of normal to begin with. (Well done to the person who achieves this!)
It is offensive to gay members of the community when ignorant people make assumptions about the lifestyles, when they have no knowledge or understanding of it.
Diversity is what makes up the human race. If everyone were the same, what a boring place the world would be.

The research on this suggest that homosexuality. transvestism, and transsexualism are caused by an incorrect supply of hormones to the foetus in the womb. We all start off as females and it is the supply of testosterone by the mother triggered by the testes at 6 weeks that makes the female into a male. It affects both the body and the brain. If something goes wrong with that supply or it does not get processed properly by the foetus then development of masculinity can be affected.

You can't be serious. No it's not an illness! Even if it ends up being genetic (which doesn't really matter) it's still not an illness. People are attracted to who they are attracted to. Until you're experienced that you will not understand. Don't you realize that homosexuality has been going on for a long long time? Are you going to say all those people had illnesses too?

Its the same type of condition as being left handed. Not an illness, defenitly not a disorder, more just a way of life, in which the candidate has no say.

Its called making yourself happy, surely you must have some gay tendancies or are trapped in the closet! Why else would you go to all this trouble to discuss a topic?
you sound repressed! Are the women in your life not forfilling enough?
I think you need someone else, to tell you that it is wrong or a dissorder so that you can feel more comfortable about hiding your true nature!
Cowards often hide behind a wall, or screen...even if it is a computer screen!

Do you even know what gay means? According to Dictionary .com it is:
1. having or showing a merry, lively mood: gay spirits; gay music.
2. bright or showy: gay colors; gay ornaments.
3. given to or abounding in social or other pleasures: a gay social season.
4. licentious; dissipated; wanton: The baron is a gay old rogue with an eye for the ladies.
5. homosexual.
6. of, indicating, or supporting homosexual interests or issues: a gay organization.
–noun 7. a homosexual person, esp. a male.
–adverb 8. in a gay manner.
—Synonyms 1. gleeful, jovial, glad, joyous, happy, cheerful, sprightly, blithe, airy, light-hearted; vivacious, frolicsome, sportive, hilarious. Gay, jolly, joyful, merry describe a happy or light-hearted mood. Gay suggests a lightness of heart or liveliness of mood that is openly manifested: when hearts were young and gay. Jolly indicates a good-humored, natural, expansive gaiety of mood or disposition: a jolly crowd at a party. Joyful suggests gladness, happiness, rejoicing: joyful over the good news. Merry is often interchangeable with gay: a merry disposition; a merry party; it suggests, even more than the latter, convivial animated enjoyment. 2. brilliant.
A person whose sexual orientation is to persons of the same sex.
A man whose sexual orientation is to men: an alliance of gays and lesbians.
That's the basic definition. It hasn't been proven to be an illness or disorder it just happens genetically when a person of the same sex falls in love with another person of the same sex...Does that answer your question?

My advice is to do some in depth resarch of your own to find the answer. You should start going to gay bars exclusively and getting to know the guys there and find out what they are like and what they are into. You know in essence become more involved. Then you will have the answer to your own question.

Well, one of the main purposes for all mammals is to find a mate and reproduce. Wouldnt say gay people are ill or have a disorder though. Perhaps just not the most natural of acts...
