Because not everyone has the same beliefs that you do...it is only sin to certain religions. If they have the same religion you do and do it, I would say it is because they really want to do it, so they have to justify it to make it ok.

I grew up in a strong Catholic family. My entire family lives their life the Bible. And I respect them and whatever they believe. Premarital sex is definately a no-no in Bible. Please try to keep an open mind, because having sex has nothing to do with people trying to go against the Bible. The Bible was written hundreds of years ago, based on the way people lived at that time. Whether or not the Bible is God's written word isn't an issue. The problem is that not only have humans (who are certain to err) recorded the Bible, humans have also retranslated and restranslated. I think it is possible for some of the messages to get misunderstood between translations.
And I don't think laws from forever ago can even try to apply today. If that were so, women would still be locked away in a tent for a few days once a month because we are considered "unclean."

Because not everyone believes premarital sex is a sin, and even if it IS a sin it won't stop people from having sex. I know people that also consider cursing a sin, but still do it.

So what if it IS a sin? A lot of things that I do are considered sin. That doesn't stop me from making an effort to be nice and polite and to help those that can't help themselves.

Sex is natural. Marriage and religion are not.

The only thing I can offer you in the way of an answer is that people cater to the flesh so that the flesh can be appeased. They use the flesh's weakness as a crutch. They don't know that they can just as easily walk away from fornication if they cater to their spirit and nourish it instead. Then again, they may not want to hear about their spirit because of the momentary reward that their flesh receives. They may not have any idea how that momentary pleasure can have lasting negative results!

Religions change their beliefs and ideas frequently to adapt to what people really want to do. It's sad, and thats why organized religion isn't something that one can have a lot of faith in because so many people even with the same religion believe and so many different things, and follow only those rules they want to. I've known people who go to church every Sunday and have extreme faith, except that they smoke pot almost every day. It's not just about sex my dear.

the idea that pre-marital sex is a sin, isnt some sort of universal law. in fact it's not even the law of god, it's the law of man. the fact is that sex is natural. wanting to have sex before you are married is natural. i actually dont even think marriage is natural, but that's open to debate.
to each his own, you are welcome to believe what you believe. just dont pass judgement on people who dont fit your views. how do you know your views are even right? and dont answer that question by saying the bible said so.

It is only a sin if you believe it is. I don't.

I am married now, but I had plenty of pre-marital sex. In fact, I wouldn't have married or even continued to date my wife if she didn't want to have a sexual relationship before we got married. I wouldn't marry anyone who was a virgin before me or who wanted to save themselves for marriage. Your wedding night is the absolute wrong time to find out that sex between you and the other person is lousy. That would pretty much kill any marriage. You need to have sexual experience outside of marriage and get things out of your system. Live out some fantasies that you wouldn't be able to live out in the confines of a marriage. You also need to know what kinds of things you like to do in bed, so you can marry someone that shares those likes.

Saving yourself for marriage is the craziest thing I have ever heard of!

According to the "rules" set forth in Leviticus, all of us are going straight to hell. If you eat shellfish or pork or have a cheeseburger or if you have failed to be declared clean by a priest after your menstrual cycle, you are going to the same place we are all going... These "laws" were to protect the Jews as they wandered in the desert and were for health reasons but in Matthew, Jesus himself explains this. Perhaps, reading the Bible with an open heart and mind would be the antidote for your angst. God bless..

It is a sin based on YOUR beliefs. You can't expect everyone in the world to live by your rules. Get real.
