Are there any sites that can give advice on divorce (advantages and disadvanyages) for older people? Such as, financially, are they better off divorced because of health reasons where if one is institutionalized, the other would not be held financially responsible and could be able to keep their retirement?

As usual, some people think they have to get sarcastic and read into things that are not there. I asked about divorce for financial reasons to be able to leave something for the kids without losing it all to health care. I did not say anything about living apart and I did not say this info was for me. So, to you sarcastic ones that have nothing better to do, get a life.

There are lawyers who specialize in this type of thing. We had to get one for my mother to find out what would be best for her. He was well worth the money.

For someone with a lot of life experience, you don't seem too smart. Why would you even consider staying married just for financial benefit. You're going to die soon anyway... and all your money, both yours AND your wife's, will go to your children ultimately...so who cares who has it for the next 20 years?
I suppose your solution would be to stay with your wife and just cheat on her if it's financially better for you?
