I was doing a 12hour sponsored silence for comic relief and i started at 10am hoping to go through until 10pm tonight. My friends at school were teasing me and annoying me deliberatley to make me talk but i didnt so they carried on and asked me a normal question to make me asnwer without thinking, so i started a fresh at 11am have been silent all day and and was really chuffed but hour ago my friends were jabbing me in my ribs to make me say ouch and i did because it hurt and they gave me more money because they could see they had upset me but i still feel like i have failed. i have decided to add time on but i wanted to do 12 hours straight today:( shall i just sayi failed and give the money back? or carry on since i go this far?

I have decided to stop my silence i managed 5 straight hours and i have invited my friends around for some fast fundraising together, they have decided to show me how sorry they really are after i spoke to them and they are helping me fundraise! Thank you all for your kind advice i do feel proud of my five hours and my yet to come fundraising. I feel strongly about charitabe work and i think my friends now realise this. xxx

Carry on. You're doing it for a good cause and your friends didn't respect that, it's not your fault. Good on your for being committed to it and when you're once again allowed to talk, tell your friends that was really immature and that this meant a lot to you and they should keep that in mind before they make fun of you. Just because they can't do it, doesn't mean they should stop you from doing it!
Good luck with the rest of your time and congrats on doing something for a good cause!

I think you're friends probably didn't realise how seriously you were taking this or they wouldn't have tried so hard to make you break the silence.
You've tried your best-dont feel you've failed.Anybody who sponsored you will want to support comic releif so I wouldn't worry about offering any money back unless they ask for it.
Perhaps this eve will be easier-12 hours is a long time and maybe a bit unrealistic-why not aim for just 2 hours tonight-if you accomplish that maybe you will feel you acheieved!
You're making the effort for a good cause so feel proud!

If they gave the money, keep it. But I'd offer to try again, to go for a 12 hour straight silence, but say they don't have to pay you. If they are fine with the outcome, then move on.

you did not fail. try to tell your friends that this is something that you really want to do and if they respect you they would let you go the 12 hours for the comic silence.
