Two good songs would be Look After You by The Fray because it has a soft, sad tune to it in a way, and the other is If Everyone Cared by Nickelback because the lyrics fit the episode perfectly. Also, don't forget the theme song. I love that song!

"Superman (It's Not Easy)" by Five for Fighting (also played in one of the smallville episodes)

im no longer precisely effective if it is right...however the song that they play on the initiating of each and every smallville episode is "shop Me" by employing Remy 0....yet im not sure if it is the song you're searching for

Well, do you notice the songs at the beginning and the ending of the episode? That's 'Heavenly day' and 'You could be happy'. Why dont use those 2 songs? If only one can be used, I suggest "You could be happy" coz it reflects Clark's deep feeling. Hope this helps ^^
