When I was younger, I used to believe that having rights was a given. The Constitution and Bill of Rights were fought for, bled for and many are still dying for them.
If I am advised that these days my rights have not been violated unless it is because of a few catagories (race, religion, sex or handicap). Am I unable to excersise the Right to Free Speech or Peaceful Assembly without fear of reprisal?
As a protestant white woman am I excluded from Speech and Assembly and Civic Participation without persecution? Has the Constitution changed in a way that I am unaware. Is this too menial for our Nations courtrooms?

We only have those rights we can defend. And we only have those freedoms we choose to exercise.

Or put another way -- use it or lose it. But don't abuse it.

No, the Constitution itself has not changed. What has changed is the view of many people regarding the concept of individuality and freedom of choice. Many people nowadays seem to think that someone in the minority is not entitled to the same protections because the majority has the right to impose their views on everyone. But that is exactly what the Constitution was originally created to protect.

Freedom of choice is not a minority position, just because the majority happens to disagree with the choice the minority makes.

Seems that church is being held every Saturday and Sunday. That school board meetings, council meetings, events, parties, etc happen all the time. Where are you saying your rights to free speech is being violated? Do not believe that the Supreme Courts say the only way to violate the law is these items, it just names the ones that for sure it violates them.
Yes these freedoms are not free, and the only way to keep them is to fight for them. Yes even die for them as some are doing today, Yet if you feel that we need to change or readdress this part of our constitution then you need to start that movement for the change.
I not been told yet that I can not speak anywhere.

Excellent points!!! The Liberals in our government have decided that the Constitution is a Living Document. This means that it can be interpreted in what ever way suits the current social trends. More accurately, it can be interpreted as THEY want it to be interpreted which is usually in some manner that fits their sick agenda to remove all religion from pubic view, deny children and others the ability to be taught both possible explanations as to why we are here, and that if they deem a word or words "offensive" they can be banned to name a few. There is only one way to stop this cancer. People of like minds to yourself need to stop sitting back and allowing it to happen out of fear of confrontation or hurting someones feelings and start fighting at every turn and at every possible opportunity for your proper rights under the original Constitution as written, not as interpreted by the liberal left.

Most people do not realize that we no longer have the unalienable rights of freedom and liberty guarenteed by the constitution .Even though many of our laws are unconstitutional and our government is more like the government our founding fathers fought to free us from .Since the constitution was authored ony one time has the supreme court said any law passed was unconstitutional .Even though most are .Our courts and justice system no longer operate by the law and oath they were bound too, support and defend in the constitution .Our government operates today on statute law (not constitutional law) which is to follow court ruling in other cases .That were made on unconstitutional laws that have been passed .This gives govt. absolute power to enact any laws and taxes that victimize and rob people to profit govt. and voids all rights given the people by the constitution. So the only rights people have today are what the govt. wants to give us or take away .The one right the people still have to control govt. given by our founding fathers to protect our freedom is in juries .Even though our courts and judges do not want ,or tell people on juries their rights .The juries were a safe guard so people could protect each other from opressive govt. tyranny from victimizining our citizens .Judges tell jurrors they are only to judge the facts of a case .Juries not only have a right but a responsibility to judge the law and the fact in court .If any law violates a persons liberty even if you think they are guilty of breaking the law .You have a duty to find them not guilty .This is how juries can nulify bad laws and bad govt. History shines on juries that have nulified bad laws in the past by voting not guilty .The founding fathers stated that any law that makes a crime out of something where no persons life or property has been take or damaged is void. For there to be a crime there has to be a victim (govt. doesnt qualify as a victim as they claim to be ).If only 1 person out of 12 on a jury votes not guilty they can nulify bad laws . The jury has the right to judge both law and fact when they choose it >Thomas Jefferson
It is the juries primary and paramont duty to judge the justice of any law ,and hold all laws invalid that are in its opinion unjust or opressive ,and hold all persons guiltless ,in violating the execution of such laws > Lysander Spooner (1852)

Yes, we must fight for our rights still. We can never give that up, our children and grandchildren deserve the way of life our ancestors died for ! Our forefathers would be rolling over in their graves if they could see America today !! Especially Patrick Henry, and Thomas Jefferson who had a koran to KNOW THY ENEMY, he would NEVER have let them in !!!!!!!!!!! He would burn all korans too, and out law them ! He knew who the mussulmans were, musselmans in American History, look it up,,they are todays muslims. They thought to hide their history by changing their names.
