It's not always a problem but different aged people sometimes want to do different things and this could create strain in the relationship.I was 14 years older than my wife and we had a lovely marriage 3 children and 8 grandchildren.we celebrated our 40th anniversary two years ago . Unfortunately she passed away last year but in all this time the age difference didn't matter at all. I wonder from your question how big an age gap you are referring to.

My ol man is 24 yrs younger than me..He is the first younger one I have ever had a serious relationship with..most have been at least 2-5 yrs older than me up to now..He never had a problem with the age thing,I did in the beginning..My immaturity meets his maturity in the middle,as hard as it is to believe we have alot in common..I don't think age is a problem unless someone is under 18..people may in fact miss great relationships in their lives due to the fact they have stereo-typed "age" into their own lives..How do you know about something unless you try it?I figure we have something really special,we have lasted 6 yrs so far & it only gets better over time..=)

Main problems, attitudes to things such as politics and culture and fashion. Also financial priorities differ and willingness for the elder person to want more offspring. Also musical tastes and passtimes. Gardening/gardeners world Versus camping holidays/I'm a celebrity get me out of here, type shows. Not to mention the relatives opinions.

Age is not a problem. If both people are mature enough to deal with the relationship then it i ok.
There was 26 years between my Father and Mother and they loved each other till the day they died.

Always a problem? I've only found it a problem when I'm the same age as the person.

6 years.

it's not the age is the problem of a relationship, it's both of you how you deal with your relationship. who's being the dominant, either the youngest or the eldest, but i prefer similar age or 3 yrs older than me as we both have words and ideas to exchange and we listen to each others...my husband is just 1 year older than me and i like it as we treat each others fairly as husband and wife...
