No. There is a saying, "an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, and every one ends up blind and toothless." It's very true. If we were to go around with that kind of belief, then we would be very badly off. Saying things like, 'you hit me so I'll hit you back' is all well and good, but it never stops there. Better to just deal with things properly, instead of trying to equal them.

no, an eye for an eye is a very simplistic idea. it turns things into black and white when most things are shades of grey.

Yes. If someone pokes out an eye their eye needs to be poked out. If someone breaks someone's arm then their arm should be broken. If someone rapes someone then they should be sent to prison with big bubba and anal raped!!
