Some grocery stores will take on someone as young as 14 but legally you can not work full time for them. I'm not sure but you could also check and see if some fast food places hire as young as 15.

I don't know what state you are in, it probly varies from state to state, but where I live you can get working papers at 14.. then you can work anywhere that hires teenagers,... obviously you can't be a waitress (alcohol), etc. but other than that there is a wide variety of jobs available.
Somethings that you may be able to do at this point are newspaper person, lifegaurd (you have to take a course), and the baby-sitting, dog walker, etc., that you had mentioned.

Its always a little tricky to land a job under 16 unless it consists of doing a paper round or something. Mainly for insurance purposes, as the employer needs a valid national insurance number to prove you are who you are, also to cover his own **** say anything drastic should happens (god forbid). It is possible to get a weekend dishwashing job or something of sort, it helps if you know someone employed there already, who can give a good recommendation for you. when you turn 16 no papers needed just hand over your National Insurance card and away you go.

David's answer is pretty much all of it. Check around the city's park and recreation they might need someone to help mow or clean or something with the parks if you live in a fairly small or medium size town. Have fun. 16 is no different than working at 15 you're just older.

Well not really! You usually have to have a work permit to work at fifteen. And even then most places wont hire you beacuse of laws against working teens! My brother is 15 also and he is upset about the whole working situation!

Any fast food place. Any mall store. Just get your work permit. And you won't be able to work more than 20-30 hours a week, depending on your state.

i beleive the legal age for work is actually 14. alot of business wont hire younger folks but not because they cant legally. if you are under 18, regardless of your age, you legally need a work permit to work. that is something you normally get from your school once you've been hired.

you need to get a work permit, usually from school, and apply for a job pretty much anywhere; the mall, restaurant, shoe store, fast food. Pretty much anywhere
