You baby can already recognize your voice, and maybe even the hubby's or other kids too. The baby can also tell when you are in a brightly lit room or in a darkened one. Don't just read kiddie books, read something you like too. The baby can't understand gore, horror, erotica, any of it, make the reading enjoyable for you too.

Oh my gosh! I'm 23 weeks pregnant too with a baby boy! His name will be Dylan Avery. I'm pretty sure I've read he can recognize your voice at 20 weeks. So read away mommy! I wanna do that too...right now I sing him a lot.

Im 26 weeks and my babys ears are sensitve. They can start recognizing sounds earlier than 26 weeks.
However make the habit of reading to him on a regular basis. The farther along you get the better!
Congrats!

He should be able to hear your voice already, but he won't be able to understand what is being read to him since we sound muffled through the amniotic fluid and he doesn't possess word recognition yet. But don't let that stop you from reading to him! I'm 29 weeks today and started reading to my son weeks ago. It's a great bonding experience. Congrats and good luck!

i'm 22 weeks and that i study at sixteen-20 weeks they might hear it. i do no longer think of they hear nor understand words yet they might hear exterior of the womb extra often than no longer. in case you have been to play track (tunes in basic terms) that they had hear. i think of my toddler is familiar with my and his fathers voice and my gestures. Everytime he strikes, I play with him by grabbing and caressing him mutually as chatting with him. as quickly as I try this, that's many of the time whilst he strikes, he strikes for approximately 10 - quarter-hour continuously. whilst i do no longer rub, caress and communicate over with him whilst he strikes, he will supply up moving directly after. i do no longer comprehend if I disturb him or make him chuffed as quickly as I play with him yet assuming that he feels what i think, he's chuffed because of the fact twiddling with him makes me chuffed. So there is a few responses which you would be able to get out of your toddler. yet I definantly think of that they might hear whilst they have gotten to the 20 th week.

I think he can hear you now, but can't exactly remember when hearing is developed. You can go to babycenter.com and sign up to get weekly emails based where you are in your pregnancy. Each email will discuss changes to your body and the baby that occur during that week in your pregnancy. It was a lot of fun to get those emails throughout my pregnancy! Good luck!

Your babie hears and feels every bit of your emotions your sending his/her way. and if you want you can place your head phone on your tummy and get a real treat. not only will the babie get a joy out of sounds of music played , you can record your voice and play it back. this is one way to tell if your kid is going to be good at kicking the ball in sports at school.

congrats, your five weeks behind me!
NOW would be the time to talk to your baby and read to him. your baby will recognize your voice now, b/c you are who he hears the most. daddy should talk to him too, he will turn to dads voice when he arrives if dad talks to him now . assuming the dad is in your life. best of wishes to you!
