Contact a Title Insurance Company and request a "chain of title." This will give you a complete history (as long as available recorded documents can go) of every owner for that parcel of land. If you're looking for the history of permits or improvements, then you'll have to go to your local building department. In most cases, it will be in the same city as the property is located. You might be referred to the county, but your local city will guide you.

It will come down to why you care.

1. History of the tile, the names of the owners and past liens will be in the county records.

2. History of the permits and other things related to the construction will be at the local planning office. Not everything will be there. It depends on the regulations and the items (some do not require a permit or did not in the past).

3. There will be other records that have to do with utilities being brought to or across the site.

You need to decide why it matters. Historical records and preservation or just curious what the prior owner paid are two examples. Also understand that little of what took place in the past has material impact on the value of the property now. Put another way if you are looking up the past sales to understand the value you will not find anything that will impact the value.

you are able to no longer try this everywhere because of the shown fact that an area of abode could be a intense turn-over house. if it is so which you ought to wind up with years and years of police history because of the various occupants. you are able to, even in spite of the shown fact that, attempt to communicate to a police officer in the area to work out what their "emotions" are of the area. maximum law enforcement officers will communicate over with you off the checklist approximately particular neighborhoods, yet no longer something especially, and those are the perfect sort of insider data on an area.
