Also, I'm 42 years old and lately I've been talking in my sleep like crazy! How do I know? I am constantly waking myself up with my big mouth lol!

"Bite your tongue" is a metaphor. So you actually bite your tongue to keep yourself from talking, perhaps because what you are saying is something you want to say in waking life but fear saying, yet the impulse to speak is strong enough that it arises in your sleep. And now the counter impulse of biting your tongue is manifesting. Record what you are saying at night in order to determine what it is you want to say in waking life but do not say. You have a rare opportunity to discover what your repressions are. Finally, if you are popping sleeping pills, there are stories of people sleepwalking and even driving in their sleep, so be careful.

Try putting a guard on your teeth.
I don't think that there is one for the tongue.
