First, I don't think anyone in our government past or present is actively trying to destroy the US.

I think grand ideas put into action have unintended consequences that are very obvious in retrospect. Also, the unintended consequences have to be held up to the positive results achieved.

It is very easy to see only bad consequences when that is all you look for.

First and foremost I don't think that is their intention but just a result if they have their way. Most liberals think we should not put laws into place if it is based on morals but isn't that what all laws are based on? Religion did play a large part in our laws and the guiding principles of the constitution because the forefathers who wrote it based it on the beliefs of the countrymen at that time (most were Christian). The liberals seem to believe that you can give money to everyone via taxes and fix all the problems of everyone but that is poor business (like going into business with family). The fact is that many people will not take any responsible actions to make their life or situation better if they are provided everything they need without working for it. The liberal agenda would bankrupt the country and the working class like me. I do believe that most are really interested in making the world better but that they don't have the business since to keep the country afloat.
The libs also are preventing the country from drilling for oil in Alaska and in turn hindering our ability to slow down our dependance on forigen oil. They do this because of unproved beliefs and not based on hard facts. Even if GW was caused by man drilling in Alaska is realitivly safe and clean as proven by the current outfits that have been running on the Slope since the 70s.
Liberals support the illegals immigrants. They say they want to get the problem under control so why do they also want to allow them health care benefits under a united health care system? Not all liberals are Democrates these issues transend party lines so I am not attempting to attack one party or the other here but just stating my view.
Abortion is murder but the Libs want to allow it. It is not OK with me to kill someone just because they are a liability or burden and expecially when it was my lack of judgement which gave birth to them to start with. There is a such thing as personal responsibility (libs try to do away with that though) and I believe that we all should be made to pay the consiquinces of our actions because that is how we learn to become better people.

They're trying to undo the economic improvements that have been made over the last 25 years.

I jumped a class. I worked hard to do so. But I can also thank the tax cuts. First, my employers and their customers got tax cuts, lost less of their capital to the government. Second, every time I took ten steps forward, the government kicked me back 4, not 7. I'd rather it be 1 or 2 but 4 is better than 7.

And the numbers are clear - I'm the rule, not the exception.

From an outside perspective.. I am a little baffled about how Liberals are trying to destroy America.

Keeping abortion legal is in the best interest of any nation. Epically one plagued with Social security shortfall, high unemployment rates, a struggling education system.. the list does go on however it boils down to the point, adding more population to a nation that cannot afford to sustain it's current population is a ludicrous idea. That aside (abortion is a spiritual issue not a political one).

Pushing to reduce emission. Lets for a moment forget about the Global warming debate and focus on what we do know. Pesticides, carbon dioxide, benzocarbons, ( I could go on but the list of chemicals we pump into the environment is a long one) they are not conducive to healthy living. A desire to reduce the amount of garbage we are pumping into our atmosphere, water and land is in the best interest of the nation as it ensures future generations are going to have the resources they need to thrive.

Increased standard of living by way of wages, education and accessible health care. It is common sense that a healthy educated population is more productive. Also higher wages generate more taxes and increased consumer spending.

I am not even going to touch the fact that they would like a speedy resolution to an illegal war that is costing the country trillions of dollars. That speaks for itself. The war has already been declared a victory, and it is a war not to fight terrorism (that is the war in afghanistan not Iraq).

1) Many liberals sympathize with the Jihadists because they believe we went to their country for no reason other than to get free oil (exxon does not get free oil) and that there were no terrorists there before we got there and these people are realyl just freedom fighters who stand up for their sovereignty and that Bush is just lying and claiming they want to hurt the US when in fact they don't. This is obviouse BS if you ever watched islamic media or follow Islam for the past 30 years you would see that their plan is Jihad, and that their enemy is the west. They have already done alot of damage in France and the UK, and are currently protesting in the US screaming "UK YOU WILL PAY, BOMB BOMB USA" while holding signs saying "WE WILL TAKE OVER THE WORLD, THE WEST WILL DIE" etc.

2) They are constantly trying to work for the "rights" of the law breaking illegal immegrants. Non US citizens do not have rights under the US constituation, they are hurting our economy, taking jobs, and commiting a majority of crime.

3)They fight for the rights of serial killers and child rapists, claiming they dont deserve death, everyone desrves a second chance etc.

4) THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT. They are willing to lose a war, and do anything else no matter how it affects the future of the country, JUST to undermine Bush and prove Bush was wrong. They are more concerned with making Bush look stupid than actually bringing strength to their country. They frequently say bush has taken all their freedoms and all their money (which he hasnt cause I know I stil have mine) and say they want to move to Switzerland, France etc.

Roe v. Wade is about personal choice being more important than government regulation. If people think the government is supposed to be making medical decisions, then they don't understand the concept of liberty at all.

If anything (and it would be Democrats, not liberals), it would be the tendency to increase government spending and taxes for mandatory social programs.

The concept of "the land of the free and home of the brave" is that individuals should be able to pursue life, liberty and happiness without the government defining what those are and forcing people to participate in mandatory programs because it's in their best interests.

Granted, Republicans (the party as a whole, not individuals) are even worse, attempting to mandate personal morality and regulate individual choice in purely personal/private areas.

But both parties are destroying the foundation of what American was founded on everytime they allow the government to control one more area of people lives, and everytime they take away one more individual choice.

It cannot count as liberty or happiness if it's not the individual deciding what those mean.

liberals and conservatives are both a detriment to this country.
Each has its own agenda and each uses the news media as a tool to vilify the other (and to claim either a liberal or conservative bias in the media).

Fact is, we need a third party in this country.
The libs are so damn concerned about being politically correct, but at the same time, the conservatives want to invade our private lives (think: Terri Schiavo, for just one of many examples).

Somewhere, someone will start a party that takes the best of the left and right (a pro-military, pro-humanitarian, pro-choice) and create a party for the rest of us.

Liberals are not trying to destroy America! They are merely trying to push their agenda, just like the conservatives. If you don't agree with their agenda, exercise your rights and VOTE! Just don't think the right to express your views means you get to force them upon another. Especially, when it comes to personal matters. If you really, honestly believe liberals are trying to destroy the US, then you are STUPID! Just because their idea of how America should be is different then yours does not make it right or wrong, just different. Lighten up and realize those who want to destroy America are the crazy F**ckers who blow up are buildings. You know, the radical Muslims and right wing militia nuts, not liberals.

I wouldn't say destroy the US. That seems a bit strong, but they do want things like: Universal Healthcare without really looking at the whole picture.

Like how much our taxes would go to pay for it.

That it stifles research. (Or we end up paying even more in taxes to pay for medical research.)

Quality of care would go down, since doctors salaries would go down.

Liberals share a belief in individual rights, free enterprise, representative democracy, and the rule of law. In this sense, almost all Americans accept liberal ideals, so much so that it is easy to forget how revolutionary these ideals were when the American Constitution was written. Jefferson said "peace, commerce, and honest friendship with all nations, entangling alliances with none."...Since Reagan, liberalism has been colored to appear weak and elitist, and our military forces are used to intervene in others affairs Think liberal, think BIG!
