No. There are some people who have legally only one name, generally that's only famous people though, like Cher.
Your name doesn't even have to be pronounceable, or spelled in the common alphabet. Remember that clown who had his named changed to a symbol with no pronunciation or word associated with it? And everyone called him "the artist formerly known as Prince"?
So, no, you don't have to have a middle name. Or you could have as many as you want.

No. I don't have one. What ever name is on your birth certificate/social security card is your legal name. I could legally change my name to Batman if I wanted.. or Bat Man if I wanted a first and last name.

No. You may have any name you want. I read an article about a guy in California who changed his name legally to a NUMBER.
My sister only has a first and last name.

Your birth name is your lawful name. You can always go to the court and change it. I love my middle. I like having all three. I don't understand why people get so self conscious about their middle names.

You don't HAVE to have a middle name. I've known a few people without them.
I think we need MORE names. 2 and 3 middle names!

No. You can have no middle name, or multiple middle names.
You can also have just a single name, not first and last.
Some states and counties impose limits based on total character count (including all parts) for administrative purposes.
