Because WWE wrestling is not a ''real'' sport. Sure it's athletic and dangerous even with the scripts but these wrestlers are more performers and maybe acrobats than athletes. It's entertainment but not a sport.
It will never be as popular as football (or soccer), but I'd be willing to speculate that it is more popular than cricket in a lot of places.

Because its predictable adn wwe is not a real sport its like Kasauti Zindagi Kii drama series but still ther performers are real do not try their moves at home and you should know WWE is the second biggest thing on Indian Television after Cricket. It actually overtook cricket for some time this is a big achivement.

In the U.K. football is the most popular sport then it's wrestling so it's more popular than cricket. Wrestling has it's own channel and has thousands of companies so wrestling is very, very popular, media say more people would like it if they'd seen more than WWE which isn't a good example of wrestling.

Well I think it may be more popular than cricket. I mean who watches cricket. However it will never be as popular as the NFL because it's not a real sport. You can't tune in to ESPN and see WWE highlights because it's entertainment and not sport.

WWE is one of the highest rated cable show in U.S weekly. Football is for the most part on national television. National TV gets more audience because its more general where cable is for selected audience. As far a Cricket goes , i dont know if anyone in this country care about it because its not American sports you know . For ratings proof , check the link if you want.

Umm, 1 year then gone. Ratings were horrible.
WWE is ENTERTAINMENT and they even say that. It's like a soap opera. I stopped watching it after 1999. They had like 3 wrestling matches in one hour. The rest was stupid stuff.
As for cricket - not here in the USA. They're trying harder than ever to push soccer, which probably won't take. (If it does, it'll be way down the road)
