There was nothing different about induction or natural labor for me. It wasnt scary at all. I was induced with my 2nd baby and I was in labor for an hour. It was fine. Same as my other labors. Dont worry about any of it. Im also GBS+...Im sure you know they will just give you antibiotics for it. You will be ok.

You sound just like me!! I was 38 weeks, 3 centimeters dilated and had high blood pressure. I had high blood pressure through most of my pregnancy but the day of my doctors appointment it was extremely high and wouldn't go down so he sent me to the hospital to be induced. When I got there they started to monitor the baby's heartbeat and my contractions and my blood pressure. It took 2 hours to get my blood pressure to come down to the point they could start the Pitocin through my IV. Then about 4 hours later the doctor came in a broke my water and I had the baby 2 hours later. I liked being induced and also with my blood pressure being so high it was a good thing to do. You are at risk for a stroke and harming the baby with high blood pressure so its good to go ahead and get the baby out. You will be fine!!! Just try to stay calm because if you are nervous and upset that only makes your blood pressure worse. Just think you have been waiting all this time for your little baby and now your about to have it in your arms!! Good Luck!!!!

I was induced with my first child at 38 weeks. And also was GBS+. With that all they do is give you antibiotics through a IV. The good thing about being induced is it usually quicker than going into labor by yourself. The problem i had was the contractions are constant. They weren't coming every couple of mins they were one right after the other. But he was out in 11 hrs. I wish you the best of luck and I'm sure everything will go wonderful......GOOD LUCK!!

I was 3 cm when I was dilated (due to preeclampsia at 36 weeks). Everything went fine, I've never had it any other way but I hope I'm induced next time too. It's not too bad. My son was perfectly healthy. Try to stay calm, it will all be over soon. Good luck and congratulations!!

First of all try to relax. Stress is not good for you or for the baby and it can slow your labor down. If the baby's head isn't engaged in the pelvis yet you can do wide hip circles to encourage the baby's head to engage and then squat leaning over your belly. This will help to put pressure on your cervix so that you dilate and go into labor on your own. Best of luck.

Your gonna be ok ((hug)) There is nothing to worry about regarding the GBS+ They will start antibiotics as soon as you get to the hospital.
And you blood pressure should be monitered well there too.
During labor take a deep breath and relax. And just remember as soon as this is over you will have a sweet baby in my arms. I always repeat this to myself during contractions.
Try not to get worked up during your labor relax your whole body and ride the contractions. NOt being anxious makes the contractions much easier to manage.

As soon as possible after birth Breastfeed your baby! Colostrum is rich in protein and will help baby's blood sugar level stabilize. As well as helping your uterus contract to minimize blood loss.

Oh and this is just a mom thing... after babys head is dried off rub you lips on its hair. It is so soft.. it makes you feel so good :D

I will be thinking of you today!!!

Goodluck!

Oh dont be scared. I understand its the same as natural labor, but can actually go quicker because ur being induced.
Your baby is term after 37 weeks so all should be just fine.
Once u hold that bundle in your arms, u will forget all about the fears ur having at this moment.
Ur gonna be a momma today! :)
Thats fantastic~ Congratulations!!!!

get the epidural... this is not a time to be wonder woman... don't be scared. Remain calm and just think about that wonderful new baby you will hold in your arms by tonight. I was induced also. I also had a c-section, which i beleive was even easier. So, if doc. suggests the c-section don't be too quick to reject it.
