I'm buying one for college and need one with a large hard drive and it needs to be fast and lightweight (or at least that's what my dad said I need to look for) Any help is greatly appreciated--which laptops you would or would not reccomend. I'm looking for one with windows vista and it has to be compatable with wireless internet. Also, any ideas of the best place to buy one? I'm thinking Best Buy just because I've shopped with them before and would like to buy insurance for the laptop but other ideas would be great. Thanks!

Dell laptops are the best. You can only buy them from Dell, they have lots of options to choose from (and costs too).

You can buy various levels of support as well for 1 to 3 years.

Other good brands are Toshiba, IBM, HP, and Gateway.... but Dell is by far the best.

I have a Toshiba Satellite, A105-S1014 and I love it.. It currently has 1gb of ram, because I upgraded from the 512 that it had, and it also has wireless, express card expansion slot, 4 usb ports, ethernet, and dialup modem, as well as S-video out to tv, and video out to a computer monitor, has a 15.4 widescreen, is portable and light, and has a 60 gb hard drive. I bought it at Best Buy, last year, for $799 and had a $200 rebate. Check them out..

The hp dv2000 is a good model. It has a 14in screen which makes it very light and they come with a lot of hard drive space. I got the dv 2220 and it has max memory(2gb ram), 160 gb hard drive with wireless internet and vista. They are selling for about $1150plus you get rebates. Best buy should have this model.
