We are allowing my 12 yr old son to have a sleep over with 8 of his best friends (all boys). What are some ideas for activity and fun for them?

I would set up multiple game systems(playstation, xbox, wii) and make a game room atmosphere.

Do you have an indoor "jungle gym" type of place in town? Something like "Jungle of Fun" or "Discovery Zone"? I'd take them somewhere like that first ... to try to burn off as much of the physical energy as possible.

Then once you're home ... video games. Video games are a sure winner when it comes to pre-teen boys. Know anyone with Guitar Hero I and/or Guitar Hero II? Those are always hits.

You'd be better off still if there's anyway you could arrange to have a couple of systems going at once ... you're talking about nine boys that you'll need to keep busy at one time.

If you have enough space, do an indoor/outdoor slumber party.... get a tent, and decorate it like the outdoors and they can tell ghost stories, make a pretend, makeshift fishing bucket....

pick a theme like an army theme, where they dress up like soldiers
pick a sport and do everything around that...
I think it's harder to do something for boys than girls...
good luck

that's a not straightforward one. foodstuff, a lot of foodstuff; won't be able to bypass incorrect with a lot of foodstuff. possibly make the ice cream the old school way. you may employ kit from someplace likely. i'd say paintball may be exciting. possibly frisbee football. or a football sport. ask your son what he'd want to do. a bbq is sturdy with paper plates. a slip and slide at the front backyard? very few options. is there a park close by?
