I'm just curious,
is there any high-paying (or at least acceptable) job for 'un-mainstream' majors like Psychology / Philosophy
because I dislike my current "rat-race" office job very much (it's really not my thing! ..& very contrary to what I'm naturally good at), that i'm seriously thinking of going back to study what really interests me: Psychology, or Philosophy, or even Music.
But let's focus in Psychology & philosophy first,...is there any high-paying job for those undergraduats/graduates?
And is it ONLY in USA (known for its more variative job types, rather than Asian countries that stressed a lot in Business, Engineering 'mainstream' stuff!) ? ...or also in Asia (ie: Korea, Japan, Singapore) i can get high-pay job from that fields?

I am a psychology major and I work in a library. It's good job. I'm interested in the other suggestions people make though, always good to keep your options open!

I could not have got this job if I had not gone to Uni so always considering getting further degrees - my husband did a 1 year Masters and has a great job he loves (doing bird surveys and writing reports on whether they should build windfarms), he could never have gotten that job without two degrees.

I would rather be poor and in a job I love - I'm a teacher. I am poor! But, I can sleep at night knowing that in 20 years, 30, or even 40, I can look back at my life with no regrets because I chose a career that provided mental and emotional satisfaction, not monetary. Being able to buy a flatscreen TV isn't as rewarding, to me, as teaching a child how to read music or building a passion for playing an instrument. Money isn't as rewarding as being a surrogate parent to child who needs stability or someone who cares about them. I want to look back when I'm on my deathbed with no regrets - so I'm taking the chance by investing in a career, not money. Somehow I've managed to pay my bills so far.

no, you make the same as people with just high school diplomas. if you are thinking about this, just ditch college and start looking for work right away.
