Every team has Eleven Player( One Wicket- keeper included)
they chose to bat or field by winning a toss. The team who bats can send only two of there players in the field at one time. These two players are called batsman, when any of them is ruled out of the match another player takes his place and it carries on till the eleventh player plays, and if they dont get Out, they can carry thier innings thru the end (In oneday matches one innings is of maximum 50 overs ie. 300 balls which the team has to play).
The Bowling/Fielding team spreads there player all over in the field so that whenever a batsman shots the ball it can be stoped by the player. The batsman Hits the ball and runs on the pitch in order to take runs(The running of a batsman from one end of stumps to another stumps is called a run) If the ball touches the fence, its called a boundry, and it gives 4 runs or if it goes over the fence it gives them 6 runs.
When the first batting team finishes the innings, the total score-(runs made by them) has to be chased by the other team, if the other team succeeds to do so with in the Over limit (50 overs), they win.
This is how cricket is played.
